Gatineau, Quebec, September 7, 2012 — The National Fighter Procurement Secretariat (NFPS) today announced the awarding of a $643,535 contract to KPMG LLP to review the National Defence (ND) figures for the Next Generation Fighter Capability project. This will inform the ND annual update to be tabled in Parliament, as called for in the Government’s seven-point action plan in response to the Auditor General of Canada’s report tabled in the spring.
Two compliant bids were received. KPMG LLP was selected after a detailed review of the bids by Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) and Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) officials. The assessment was based on the highest combined score of technical merit and price.

The Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat will manage the work conducted under this review. Procurement information about the independent review is posted on the Government of Canada’s tendering system hosted on MERX.
