The Honourable Jim Flaherty, Minister of Finance, today announced the appointment of Guy Dancosse to the Board of Directors of the Royal Canadian Mint.
“Mr. Dancosse has a wide range of experience in law and public service, making him an excellent choice for this position,” said Minister Flaherty.
Mr. Dancosse, of Montréal, is a partner with Lapointe Rosenstein Marchand Melançon LLP law firm. Prior to that, he worked for several national law firms. With more than 30 years of experience, he has extensive expertise in arbitration, negotiation and mediation, both nationally and internationally, in all areas of business and labour relations.
The Royal Canadian Mint is a for-profit Crown corporation with a mandate to produce circulation and non-circulation coins (for Canada and other countries), manage the domestic coinage system, and provide advice to the Minister of Finance on all matters related to coinage.
