Ottawa, December 24, 2014 – Ministers Jason Kenney, Chris Alexander and Tim Uppal issued the following statement to recognize Christmas:

“Tomorrow, families and friends across Canada will join together to celebrate Christmas, one of the most joyous and important holidays of the year for Christians.

“Christmas is a wonderful opportunity for all Canadians to spend time with family and friends, attend religious services, and reflect on the importance of faith and hope.

“As we give thanks for the blessings we have in our own lives, we are also encouraged to act with generosity and compassion toward those in our communities who are less fortunate during this holiday season.

“On behalf of the Government of Canada, we extend our best wishes to all for a merry and blessed Christmas, and a happy New Year.”
