Escape from Archambault Institution - Medium security unit

March 1, 2016 – Laval, Quebec – Correctional Service Canada

On March 1, 2016 during the 12 p.m. count in the medium security unit at Archambault Institution, in Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines, staff members discovered that Sylvain Lauzon was not accounted for.

The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) immediately contacted the Sûreté du Québec and a warrant for his arrest has been issued.

Sylvain Lauzon is 43 years old, measures 175 cm (5’9”) in height and weighs 65 kg (144 lbs). He has a fair complexion, blue eyes and auburn hair. He has a tattoo on the right upper arm of 2 dragons in the shape of a heart, as well as other tattoos on his torso, his back, and on his left calf and right shoulder. He also has a scar on his left ankle. He is currently serving a sentence of four years and ten months for Robbery, Disguise with Intent, Dangerous Driving and others.

Anyone who has information on the whereabouts of Sylvain Lauzon is asked to contact police.

CSC will investigate the circumstances of this incident and is working with the police to locate the offender as quickly as possible.

CSC has given the police all of the information available to help arrest the inmate.
