Canadian Armed Forces medical troops return from Operation PROVISION

OTTAWA – Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of National Defence, Karen McCrimmon, will welcome the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) medical contingent back to Canada from their deployment to Jordan and Lebanon in support of Operation PROVISION.
The operation is the CAF’s contribution in support of the Government of Canada’s efforts to welcome 25 000 Syrian refugees in Canada by the end of February 2016. The medical contingent was assisting with medical screenings for Syrian refugees’ resettlement in Canada.
The following VIPs will welcome the contingent home:
- Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of
- National Defence, Karen McCrimmon
- Lieutenant-General Chris Whitecross, Commander Military Personnel Command
- Colonel David Weger, Acting Commander, Canadian Forces Health Services Group

Media are asked to arrive no later than 9:15 p.m. and to confirm their attendance no later than 8 p.m. on January 30, 2016.
Directions to the Canada Reception Centre: Take the Airport Parkway to Hunt Club West. Turn left onto Paul Benoit Drive, then right on Kiowa Private. The hangar will be directly in front once you turn right, and the entrance has a blue awning over the doorway.
