Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, today announced $35,000 in funding for the 15th annual MUTEK Festival, which will take place from May 27 to June 1, 2014.

This funding, provided by the Government of Canada through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund, will allow MUTEK to present an original and diverse program showcasing electronic music and digital creativity.

Quick Facts

  • MUTEK is a non-profit organization devoted to the dissemination and development of emerging forms of audio, visual, and musical digital creation.
  • Close to 70,000 visitors are expected to attend the 15th edition of this festival, which will feature nearly 80 artists (half of them from Canada, the rest from 10 other countries).

“The MUTEK Festival helps enrich and diversify culture in the Greater Montréal Area by offering new and original artistic experiences. Our Government is pleased to support this popular event, which showcases the creativity of artists from Canada and beyond.”
—Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages

“A new configuration of locations, amplified programming, a significant blend of local, national and international—this is, in fact, an edition that charts a path through the last 15 years just as much as it sets the stage for future renewal.”
—Alain Mongeau, General and Artistic Director, MUTEK
