March 27, 2014 – Dieppe, New Brunswick – Department of Canadian Heritage

The Government of Canada has granted multi-year funding support to Productions DansEncorps through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund, to help it present the Atlantic Dance Festival Danse Atlantique in 2014 and 2015.

Robert Goguen, Member of Parliament (Moncton–Riverview–Dieppe) and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Justice, announced that the organization would receive $50,000 in funding over the next two years. He made the announcement today on behalf of Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages Shelly Glover.

The Atlantic Dance Festival Danse Atlantique will take place from October 23 to 27, 2014, and from October 22 to 26, 2015, in Moncton. It offers a variety of performances by both seasoned and emerging professional dancers. The Festival also includes workshops/presentations and master classes, which are open to the public, and other opportunities for community involvement.

  • Founded in 1979, Productions DansEncorps produces performances in dance and other performing arts. The company contributes to the flourishing of culture and the development of the arts in the region.
  • Since 2006, the Atlantic Dance Festival Danse Atlantique has been bringing together dance stakeholders in Atlantic Canada. It celebrates the quality and excellence of artists who contribute to the advancement of dance in our society. It seeks to build dialogue and networking among dance enthusiasts in a non-competitive environment.
  • Many professional artists from Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick have been involved  in the Festival since it began in 2006.
